Ocean Generation Collective


Ocean Generation is a global collective creating awareness and campaigning about the health of our oceans and the small independent states that rely on it. My role varied between brand manager and creative director, developing ideas and strategies to introduce OG to the global online world. The challenge was to bring the oceans issues to the most connected generation through music, film, tv, fashion and gaming. Within our first year we managed to reach over 41mil people.

From online to on the ground.


Our aim was to create an online community with Generation Z; the most connected generation ever to exist. Working with a range of influencers, tastemakers, musicians, bloggers and gamers we managed to do just that. Our first example of this was our YouTube show ‘Beyond A Click’, produced by myself and Rob Adamson. We hosted a live fund raising stream for the communities of Barbuda.

Hacking to save


One of key interests is to involve technology into the ongoing work. During summer 2017, founder Daisy Kendrick along with other colleagues teamed up with UNOPS to host the first ‘Hack-a-thon’ in Antigua. Inviting over 10 teams, the aim was to create a tech solution to help prepare, recover and repair the small communities from natural disasters on the islands. Watch the video to see what happened.

After a successful first year, Ocean Generation are now looking to host an annual Hack-a-thon, running several educational summer camps on the remote islands and continue campaigning for cleaner, healthier and safer oceans.
